Why are my left side taillights brighter than my right?

All my bulbs are good. Do I need a new taillight harness?

Is a harness hard to put in?

If you don't want to buy new ones, try swapping side to side. The problem will follow one of them. Then buy the ones you need. It's not your harness.

There's actually a very distinct possibility of it being in the wiring. Keep it simple. Check the bulbs, and if that doesn't do anything, check the wires and sockets. DO NOT BUY SOCKETS FROM THE DEALERSHIP!!!! They'll charge like $50 each, when you can get them at a Pep Boys for like $4.00 each.

Probably one bulb is older than the other. Vaporized filament darkens the bulb over time. That's why when I replace one bulb, I always do the one on the opposite side at the same time, that way they age together. Also the one that didn't go out will be the one that is next to go out if you leave it in. Save the working old one for an emergency spare.

I have the exact same problem and traced it to a bad connection inside the socket. Now I just need to get around to replacing it.
