Why is my car feel slow out of the hole??
Why is my car feel slow out of the hole??
My only mod is CAI. If I mash the pedal from a stop I rarely spin, but just seems to be slow getting up to speed. The car doesn't miss or studder and IMO pulls decently through the power band. Do my gears and A4 tranny have anything to do with this? What were some of your experiences with your car when it was stock (or close to it)?
Thanks,
Mike

I've heard it is b/c of the gears. A buddy of mine has a 95 T/A which run 8.48's in the 1/4 and he just bought a crappy high mileage 94 Z28. The only real difference is the gears. His T/A has 3:23 and his Z28 has 2:73 gears and he can tell a huge difference. If you want to pull out of the whole then upgrade your gears to 3:23, 3:73, or 4:10 gears if you want a neck cramp.
2.73's will seem like it takes forever to get up to speed, and I have owned many a car with them. Believe me, you think that you'll die before you shift out of first! if you have an A4, go with 3.23's for sure to keep the interstate driveability, but if you want speed, go for 3.42's or even 3.73's with a higher stall torque converter
