looks like going with spray or a blower is the best choice my only prob is that my 383 is going to be set at 12.1 compression because of the cam size so ill probably stay with this setup and spray about a 150 shot then probably in december change the heads and slap a blower on it

I'm kinda coming in here late...What are your goals for the car? I was skimming thru so if I missed it, sorry...My times and photo are in my sig with better numbers hopefully to follow on Friday as we test the EWP and the stepped Kooks over the shorties...I hang with a new Z06...If he sleeps at the tree, I got him...Hoping for 120ish traps with the new set up and maybe an 11.20 (knocks on wood)...Small hydraulic roller, LT1 castings, stock ported LT1 intake, daily driven...

It's not all about flow with heads.... ughhhhhh

The larger valves definately help in the LE3, so do NOT discount that even if the flow is not higher.

well i just made this thread to see why lt1s seem to be in the 400rwhp range whether 350,383,396 all motor without using a blower or nitrious and what would it take it to be as powerful and daily driven as a new zo6 i know the displacment on the zo6 is quite larger i just wanted to know if it could have been done sorry for all the confussion and about the LE heads sorry about assuming about the differences concerning the LE2 and LE3 when it comes to this stuff im reallly a noob at it but know i want to build my lt1 as strong and as reliable it can be like it is now

I never priced them, but what does a set or Trickflows set you back?

How do they flow, UNPORTED compared to like a LE2 or 3 package? I knew they were better ported but what about unported? You would be talking some serious money to buy trickflows, then have them ported out by someone too.

From summit, you can get a pair of bare trickflows for about $950 if I remember correctly...

edit:
Less than $950, here ya go:

That isnt a bad price really.

Although you could add on at least another 250 for good valves/valve job.

Everyone runs their own spring set ups and such though so it would be pointless to add that to the price. So figure 1250 for a set of decent heads.

How do they flow unported compared to ported stock castings?

I'm only half way joking about that. Honestly I think the cost of swapping to an LS7 (wiring, different K-member, etc, etc...) would be similar to what it would take to make an LT1 make 500rwhp N/A. The vette guys are already getting 500+rwhp out of those new ZO6's with just bolt-ons and lumpier cams. I'm as big of a LT1 fan as anyone else on this forum...but its something to think about...
LS7 motors are priced way to high. You could probably build a 383 stroker and buy a procharger for a smiilar price. Although It may be easier to just do an LS1 swap. My car traps 120 On street tires all day with stock heads, n/a, cam and headers. Its a lightly modded LS1. Although a stroker LT1 will have more durability then a stock LS1. I have friends with strokers that cant match my times. I also have friends with strokers running 10's n/a.

I thought about building me a stroker and buying a procharger. 650 RWHP is realistic with suck a setup not to mention the monster torque. Be prepared to fork out some cash!
