As already stated, some codes set the SES and some do not. You will need a scanner to look for codes.

If i go to a dealership or something will they scan it for me or can u tell me possibly a good place to go to get it done?? Also if i go to AutoZone and get one of there little scanning keys and plug it into the underdash port will it flash the code??

A dealer won't be cheap to have it scanned. AZ only scans OBD-II (yours is OBD-I). The only 4th gen LT1 f-body that you can flash codes on is a 1993. If you are going to work on your own car, consider investing in a scanner (like Autoxray, Actron ...).
