Why does my car backfire sometimes when I'm off the gas???

If I let off the gas and let it engine brake it will sometimes backfire. It only started after I installed the blower/OBDI pcm. Is there something(s) I should look for physically or in the programming???

mine started doing the same thing when i only took off my cat, and installed a flowmaster muffler, i like to know what the problem is myself, people think my car runs like s**t when they hear it, my car looks mint then this happens, its so embarrasing,
someone told me that there is a hose you unplug, not sure for what or where, but i dont know if i should start screwing with under hood components, thanks for that question, hope someone helps.

the popping and backfiring are caused by excess unburned fuel.
You guys should here my car.
burbling, backfires, flames shooting out the pipes.
I love it and would not change it.
It did this when I had the cat and flowmaster but not near as bad as with no cat and short pipes.
I love it, I can shift down to third and engine brake and just barely touch the gas pedal and the sounds it makes are so cool.

ever watch NASCAR and see the flames shoot from the exaust pipes as they slow in the corners? same thing happening to them. LOW restriction exaust and a powerful engine making lots of fuel into the chamber and burning it off as you decellerate because the high amount of fuel it was dumping in is suddenly not needed. My 93 LT1 w/ no cat and no muffler does this too. When you pass the rice cars and slow down, as they try to pass after you realize they were no challenge and slow down, if you time it right, it will go BANG right in their ear! I've done this and seen them lean over towards their passenger seat quickly. It's like "DUCK! THEY'RE SHOOTIN!!"

hmmm

think of it this way..this explosion is happening thousands of times per driving session in your combustion chambers. You just never hear it come out until the excess needs to be blown out.

well hey bubba. Im not trying to be a smart ***. Im just asking. who pissed on you? where does it look like I am trying to be a smart *** in my posts? huh? thats what I thought. nowhere.
You sound like some 23 yr old hot redder wanna be in your posts.
I am not trying to be a smart ***. I was told that if I started coming to camaroz28.com to look out for smart asses when f-body.com started getting boring back in 1999. I am not being a smart ***.

lol actually bubba, I'm 19. Secondly bubba, you were being a smart *** an Mr. 13.2 Ollie seemed to think so too. You know what one of the problems on this board is??? People not reading and wasting bandwidth, like you bubba. Thirdly, I don't consider myself a hot rodder nor do I act like one, I consider myself a car enthusiast.

You talk about camaroz28.com like it's some lost mystical realm or something and that you need to look out for trolls that will attack you if you cross their bridge. LOL just go to somebody else's post and post ur garbage there I don't need your responses.

EDIT: Take your BS to another post. Secondly, learn how to type it's not that hard. Thirdly, you are a loser if you searched for the rest of my posts. Fourthly, if I want to buy a 1990 GT for a good price or keep it to drive around, that's my business, not yours bubba.

Again, do not post on any of my posts I don't require any doofus comments from Mr. Bubba who can't read or type.

well If that is what you want. Next time I got the answer to your post, I'll just bypass it and move on since you can't be receptive or appreciative to help no more than that. The "wtf" and "bitch" you used when you posted previously led me to assume that you were young and stupid. Real car enthusiasts dont use that language and call their car that they like a "bitch." Try being civil, it will help you out alot more. "So I misread a post. I'm a smart ***. wow that was easy."
