Why do i have a popping sound from my exhaust?

Why do i have a popping sound from my exhaust?

I know its like a carbon back fire but when i rev it up it pops when it idles down what causes this and can u stop it. Everybody i know thinks its a cool cackle but im not sure if i like it well can u stop this or not??

Backpressure. Gut your cats, and throw on a catback and that'll get rid of a lot of it. After that throw on some longtubes

Umm...you have it backwards. Its popping because there is not enough back pressure. And you suggest longtubes to minimize popping.....

My stock SS had no problems at the time, after the header install tho, it was popping at the tail pipes, removed the resonater tail pipes and no more poping...

The only ways ive heard of getting rid of it, it true duals with a H-pipe or a cam. I know for a fact the cam gets rid of it.

Maybe I do...all I know is my car popped bad, until I got the magnaflow now it pops much less...my friends car popped a lot with his factory stuff on, went to flowmaster decreases slightly, gutted the cats and its almost non existant now...but the car is LOUD...
