why do i have the old gauges?

why do i have the old gauges?

I have a 97... (title is 97, vin is 97, 97 console, etc) but i have the '96 gauges...

why???

anyone have this problem too? did some of them come with the '96 gauges or something?

The early 97's came with the previous style gauges from what I gather. I've heard of owners with the analog odomoter. The later models came with the digital odometers.

so if i upgraded, would i have to do any wiring (so TCS, and seat beat light dont come on)

do you know?

If you were to upgrade the dash, I'm not sure what is all that would need to be done. The wiring might be kinda tricky, but I know it's most likely possibly since I've seen 3rd gens with 97+ interior.

but i have a 97, thats why i'm wondering if i could just do it without any wiring...

maybe i have 97 wiring, but 96 gauge or soimething?

Well, one thing that would stump me would be how to get a reading from an analog display to a digital one? Unless the computer keeps it in memory on the analog odometers as well. If it is the 93-96 style of gauges, then I wouldn't be surprised if everything from 93-96 was just carried over into your car.

yeah.... i just rememberd i had 96 PCM too

the mileage is kept on the gauge though, so it'll just be w/e the new one is...
