Who's done the 98+ center console???

If I were to get the entire console with the shift plate and everything, what else is involved in making it go on? Is it a direct bolt in deal, do I need anything else?? Thanks.

Did it. Granted, I'm an M6, but it should just bolt right in. Both of my 93's have the 97+ newer style console. The cupholder area on the right will have a little gap from the bottom of the plastic to the floor, but not too bad.

I did it too. It's really a 97+ console, but whatever. The bolt holes didn't line up with mine, probably with others too. I don't mind though if it is a little loose, it only slides about an inch forward and back and that's if i push it.

Does the console squeak and rattle like the one we have now? Even if it does I don't care I just want a proper drink holder and I'm willing to pay money for it. In my stupid drink holder I have already lost the rubber ring twice, it can't hold a drink for **** especially when you are trying to corner hard, and its right infront of the freaking shifter. The morons at GM had to come in on Sunday to make this center console.

Ebay about $100 is what paid. make sure if you get one that they send the front silver brace or the the front of the console will hift back and forth.you will have to modify it a bit but it looks much better than stock.

I'm thinking about doign this conversion to my 96 z, because i like drinks. What holds the console down as far as removing it? is it just the one bolt in the front? How hard is it to swap out?
Thanks
Bill

I have a 97 up console in my formula everything lines up perfect but you cannot use the 2 screws on the front of the console under the dash cause there will not be anything to screw to. Also I upgraded to a newer style convertible top switch which was a pain to figure out the wiring.

I found out that there is a c-shaped bracket that you need to bolt in to use all the moutning bolts for the console... if you buy the console from a wrecked car, make sure you have the brackets as it will make it a lot sturdier.
