i have been battleing with a 90 lx 5.0 convert mustang with a stock bottom end and elderbrock efi(i think thats right) , and e-303 cam (to much cam for his motor) i belive stock heads, and a throttle body car, with 4.10's...i can beat him by a car and a half+ in my z with my mods in sig with 2.73 gears (3.42's were broke now fixed)

he is supposely getting a 9lb. powerdyne sc and keeping everything else the same and also adding nitrous to his car and wants to race me tue. night...

so do you think if i were to add a 100 shot i could beat him?

most of the time when we race i jump him a car out of the hole(2.73's) and we are both dead hooking (concrete road) and then pull about a half a car to almost a car in the quarter...

i just knew a few hints and opinions on what else i need to do to pull this off!

Is his car 5spd or auto? When my Z was stock 95 A4 2.73's I could walk the crap outta my buddies 87 GT. By 45mph I was running from him. He was converted to mass air,30lb injectors,3.73's,pro 5.0 shifter, K&N CAI, 65mm TB, Flowmaster CatBack,Off Road H-pipe, MAC headers, and I think a couple other things but I don't remember. He's a good driver but doesn't like to run all the way to redline. So I drove his car and he drove mine with the same results. Not as bad, but still a butt whoopin'. Same launch, same tire spin. The car your talking of is about 700lbs heavier and not much higher on the hp #'s. Either he's bs'n you about how many mods he has or somethings wrong with your car. I think you should be beating him by more than you are with your mods. But to answer your question. If he gets a SC yes a 100 shot will still keep you ahead.

 

his car is an auto with a 3000 stall, and shift kit, it has bbk headers, and flowmaster exhaust with an x-pipe...his car ran a low 8.8 and a high 8.7 a few times...

i dont know but i think its just me my car runs pretty good for what it is?

Indeed they do.

 

if that stang still has the stock heads, you have no worries with 100 shot. those factory heads on the 5.0s suck.
