Who used an S-10 Converter

I already did a search and got nothing.

I thought I read a while back about people using an S-10 torque converter to gain a little bit of stall speed at a good price.

I want just a little over stock stall for a cheap price. I am swapping the auto out over next winter so I dont want to spend a wad of cash. My stock converter is bad.

Sorry, I dont have the part number handy but I did have one of these in my 95 TA about 2 years ago. It did stall about 300-400 rpms higher than stock and did not affect gas mileage that much either. I got it from GM Parts direct for like 170.00 shipped to NJ. For the price, I think its a great mod for a relatively cheap price. I would also recommend putting in a aftermarket Tranny cooler, it will help save the life of your tranny. I now have the 2800 Vig in my car cuz after 101,000 miles, My original trans finally gave up the ghost and I figured why not replace it with something more stout and a bigger converter too.

Hope that helps some what,

Its the 2000-2200 stall, right? Trans Am *Rob* from off of here was running one on his '96 Trans Am and said that it was a nice upgrade from stock. I purchased the tranny from him but never got around to installing it. I've since sold it to a gentleman down in Alabama. I haven't heard back from him since he swapped out his old '94 trans but I'll email him to see how he's liking it.

The price is pretty good for a mild upgrade from stock Check on E-bay... I'd seen the 2200 stall go for as low as 100 bucks on there.
