who said TB Bypass was easy??
who said TB Bypass was easy??
its the two tubes on the bottom of each side of the throttle body right? i got the one on the drivers side off.
but how the hell do you get the passengers side off!?!?!?!? seems impossible
and what is that bigger tube on the upper left hand of the TB going to the valve cover? is that PCV???

I just did my bypass today. it really wasn't that difficult other then that tube on the passenger side. what i did was cut the tubing with a razor about an inch down and then pull it off after moving the clip about 1 1/2 inches down the tubing. You will still have plenty of hose leftover after the cutting. Also it is a lot easier if you remove the throttle body itself and unplugg that tube going to the valve cover at the valve cover so you have more room and better abgles to work with.
alright!
i finally got it done. i ended up cutting the tube and running it to the other side. i left the rest of the tube with the clamp still hanging off the little spout on the TB - without plugging it up! do you think alot of unfiltered air will get into the engine? should i still go back and try to plug that up somehow?

I agree.......look no real harm with come from leaving it exposed(open)but, if you're going to do mods like this, figuring out that getting a bypass cap and a spring clamp to close it off are the first things that should go through your mind.
Put a K&N on those hoses
Then you air will be filtered like no other.........LMAO...i love a good laugh.
^^^just kidding.......but it was funny.
yea i tried to get that hose off with the trottlebody still on........tried for like 15 min and said F-it and pulled the trottlebody and 2 minutes later it's done.

But in all seriousness you can put little rubber cap things over those......then you won't get dirt in the throttle body.....but that doesn't really matter too much....doesn't get to the engine.....just makes that coolant passage dirty. Think of it this way it's a coolant hose that runs through the throttlbody
i pretty much knew what i was doing. i know the coolant runs through the TB to prevent throttle blade icing. however for some reason i wasnt sure if that meant the coolant went through the air passages or not?> guess i never concidered the TB to be hollow
the reason i just cut it is because i was starting to get fustrated and like three people on this thread told me it was a good idea!
and i already did put a rubber cap on the drivers side. i have the plug for the other side but i guess i dont really need it anyway.
oh and thanks to all of you for making me feel like sh**

I cut the hose that went from the passenger side of the throttle body to the pipe. I couldn't get it off. I figure I can order the part again if I ever need it (which I doubt).
Congrats on the install. Did you bleed the coolant system? Not sure if it's necessary with this mod, but I did it just in case.
