Who Has A Good Mail Order Tune For The XE224/230 Cam???
I'm getting ready to order my cam kit from Combination Motorsports and I'm trying to get everything lined up. So who has everybody had good experience with? My car is a 95 A4 and I'll be running it with my stock torque converter for awhile. Any input will be helpful. Thanks!
That's the same thing I did. I got the cam and valvetrain from Summit/Thunder. I also had the stock converter for about a year. I got the pcm tune from Bryan @ www.pcmforless.com Still no dyno tune, but it's been running great so far.
Granted I'm a 93 and require an Eprom chip, but go with PCMforless. Alvin (the chip guy there) almost nailed my tune on the first shot. The only reason he didn't was because the heads were making way more power than he thought. PCMforless is the way to go!!!
Thanks guys. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Someone who can get it damn close the first time! Any idea what it'd run me cost wise? Thanks again.
JKipp,
How did the car run with the stock TC and this cam? Do you have any times? What do you think of this cam? Thanks.

Ion Salton Nailed mine ran a 7.90 last night on street tires. I think he is cheaper than PCM for less to plus he supports this board. MadZ28.com
It wasn't too bad with the stock TC, I actually ran around for a year that way. Bryan set the idle to 850, so it would try to creep a bit at red lights. With the 2400 I put in, things are back to normal. Shifts are a bit mushier, but nothing too bad. Definitely go with a cooler regardless.
As for track or dyno #'s.. none. Sorry!
