Who has an excellent rep for building LT1 short blocks?

Im looking for someone to build me a 396 LT1 blower motor. I contacted MTI but they no longer build LT1 engines. Any other sponsors or other reputable shops near New Mexico/Texas area?

Thanks

Why a 396 for a blower motor? A 383 is going to be cheaper and just as strong.

Golen just did my engine, did a great job, looks and sounds awesome, great customer service, very clean shop too. If you are interested in more info let me know or get in touch with Chad 800-591-9171, golenengineservice.com.

I'm actually going to roll up to Golen to check them out in the future....

Depending on the power levels we are talking about here a custom build might be the way to go. A 383 with 14psi of intercooled boost and good heads is good for 800+hp

Yeah, what's up with the rolleyes? Do you want to explain? I am considering HPE for my buildup and I have heard nothing but good about them.

I kinda meant it as a smart a** comment it only makes sense to have the people who have the fastest stock lt1 block do your engine. wish i could afford it right now. but hey im graduating as an engineer major soon and will have lot's of money to make my ws6 faster.

By the way my car is having a lot of issues. i just recently did a blown head gasket and decided to spend some money on an lt4 hotcam kit, now the rockers are noisey, the alternator won't charge the battery, during acceleration from a dead stop it stumbles any ideas. please help first timer and no one seems to respond to my other forum.

I am considering them (HPE) also. I just need to see how bad my current motor is.

I have a golen short block.. I think they are great.. Golen is pretty cheap too.. My car is making about 650 rear wheel right now.. IM upgrading alot of things and aiming for 800-900 rear wheel n2o assisted on the golen shortblock.. I ordered the fully forged 383.. I have heard good things about HPE too..
