Who has the best headers? BBK, AS&M, SLP??

I've been looking at headers to put on my car this winter, but who is making the best set of headers for the LT1?? I've been looking at BBK, AS&M and SLP headers so far.

Well the best would be some long tube headers. But out of those 3 i would say that the AS&M headers are the best. Then the SLP's and BBK's.

I just ordered some Jet Hot long tubes, and their hooker Y-pipe to fit them, both coated of course. I got they at a good deal when they had a GP for $740 together shipped. They are like normaly $808 shipped or something.

As far as shorties go, Id say MAC makes the best ones. Great quality, and they seem to offer beter plug access than other makes do.

Longtubes are good too, but I think ground clearance becomes an issue for some people.

Yeah the macs are good headers with probably the best plug access out of the mids and short tube headers. But they are only 1 5/8 not 1 3/4 like the others.

I love my SLP shorties. Very significant SOTP feel. Pulls a lot harder and stronger.

what type of headers are you looking for? shorties, mid-lenghts or long tubes?

If i were to go with shorties, i hear SLP are good
midlengths, definitely AS&M
longtubes...depends if you need the emission hookup or not.

I shore have enjoyed my AS&M headers. Notice a big difference in SOTP. So I would have to say the best Mid-Length is AS&M Headers.

i think the SLP's and AS&M's will be almost the same so what ever you get the better deal on is what i would get.

Z28marine do you have a dual cat or single cat car? If you have a dual cat car the headers made for dual cats don't provide much of a gain. I have 2 cats and am gonna convert to a single cat. I live in cali too. I will just have to find a place that will pass me as long as i pass emissions and that doesn't really car about the visual part of it.

I have a single cat... i dont know about places for passing without the visual...i wish i did though...but, unless the crawl under the car and look, how else would they know?? right?...i might as well go with shorties, but i know in the end ill always be wnting LT's or mid lengths

on a single cat car, the as&m's shouldn't move the cat, on a dual cat car, they will for sure
