how big is your engine? If its a stock 350 theres no need for a custom grind cam with stock heads. But if you really want to Thunder Racing does custom grind cams for $290ish.

If youre really wanting a custom grind (though stock cubes/heads, an off the shelf cam would do great) i would talk to Lloyd Elliot. He is a stand up guy.

Yepp I use the LE1 cam in my cam-only car and love it.

Last I checked, I heard Lloyd doesn't sell the cams by themselves.

You are correct. I called and that is what he indicated. Only with his head packages.

AI offers their custom cams that they use for their heads. Bret Bauer, Comp, Joe overton (dont think he still does), and most speedshops do them too.

Custom cams...these cams are the ones you can call and get yourself from Comp cams...the problem is you need to know what to get....

The science of cams was figured out a long time ago....

Get a GM 847 and call it a day...

A shelf grind will work fine.

You need to decide things before selecting any cam.

Street or Strip or Daily Driver?
What is the power band where the majority of your driving will be?
Streetability, i.e, idle quality, stock idle or major bump.
How much do you want to spend?
Heads or not?
Headers or not? LTs or Shorties?
How much RWHP do you expect with just the cam and rockers?
Do you want low-end torque or high end HP?
That's a good place to start. JMHO

I went with cam motions. Like said above any of the speed shops can get a cam off the self or "custom" if you know what you want to do. Most off the self cams have to much LSA.
