A hotcam with a 383? That's like spending $2000 on head porting and polishing and having a stock exhaust......I'm no expert on cams, but I know pwoplw with similiar mods as me that are going with a bigger cam because the hot cam isn't strong enough. I can't imagine it with a 383. You should definatly switch it.
As far as the programming goes I would recommend posting in the local board on this site and see who does a good dyno tune. It looks like you've spent a large ammount of money on mods, so you shouldn't do a tune through the mail. Spend the extra $300 or so and just get it dyno tuned to hit the nail on the head.
Oh man...you're in the Chicago area? Are you in luck.
Contact madz28 here on this board or Jim(INTMD8) at Speed Inc.
I would suggest you have your car tuned on the dyno and both of these guys are more than capable of doing it.
If you just want a mail order tune, do not use Hypertech as it is junk and of the other 2 you mention I would go with PCMforless.

I met INTIMA8 at US 41 last year, I was gonna use speed inc but I called and left a message to make an appointment twice and no one ever called me back, I'm not to fond of companies like that.
Oh and as for the hotcam thing, you may be right, this whole bottom end thing was kind of an afterthought, IT was supossed to just be heads and a hotcam, but you know how that goes..... The problem is I need a cam springs and retainers if i go above .525 lift. thats all the hotcam springs are rated to and im not only broke but in debt. What is a good healthy streetable cam for a 383???
They are booked until August I hear. Very busy.
The easiest way to get a response from them is to just e-mail Larry. He'll get back to you.
Or contact madz28...he's a sponsor on this site and is in DeKalb.

Bryan @ PCMFORLESS did a great job by me. Shipped fast, car runs great, excellent customer svc, great prices.. can't go wrong for a mail order tune!
As for your cam, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's still going to be a blast to drive, I'm sure you have plenty of fun with it.
Later on when some funds free up, I'd give some consideration to the XE cams. I couldn't be happier driving with my 224/230 everyday!
