White Smoke!!

I just got my exhaust done because i didnt have it connected at all.

Still some leaks on the headers but i quieted it down a lil bit

On the way home i got on it and poured out white smoke

But when the smoke comes into the car it dosent smell sweet it just smells like fuel, just regular exhaust.

Also alot of black smoke came out too

Does this mean blown head gasket or no?

Re: White Smoke!!

Well, if you have white smoke you are probably running too rich and if you're getting black smoke you are probably burning oil. I obviously don't know the answer since I don't know what condition your bottom end is in, but since you have a 94 with a SC, I wouldn't be surprised that you are getting blow by.JMHO

Re: White Smoke!!

Sounds like a head gasket.. worst case scenario is a cracked block (happend to me)!

If you have problems starting up it means that the cylinder is fill up with something (gas/oil/coolant). If it does have problems starting and it does eventually start and white smoke pours out you definatly are leaking cooling and its probably your head gasket.

No I know if there is black smoke she runs too rich and if there is blue smoke she burns oil.

Re: White Smoke!!

White smoke - coolant
Black smoke - fuel
Blue smoke - oil

Re: White Smoke!!

Check coolant level? That's the easiest test. If your coolant level is staying constant then obviously you're not losing it anywhere and the problem is something else.

Re: White Smoke!!

One or both of the following will give you the answer. Pressure test the coolant system at the radiator with first the engine cold and then at operating temperature.

If that doesn't produce results, break out the leak down tester. Both cold and hot.

I'll put money on bad intake gaskets leaking water into a cylinder which BTW can be seen on the plugs.
