When i have start my 95 z28 lately theres been a whistling noise coming from the engine bay. When i punch the gas it goes away but at idle its really bad. It maybe nothing but i figured I run it by you guys on here and see what you'll thought.

 

Vacuum leak somewhere.

 

Some of the aftermarket TBs have been know to generate a whistle sound.

 

What type of induction your running? Sometimes the weather can effect that whistle sound. When it's cold sometimes my car will whistle at idle.

 

when i had it on my air pump used to sound like a supercharger that could possibly be it but i may be wrong. people used to swear i had a blower lol

 

i found a rip on the under side of the elbow. I tihnk this maybe causing the sound

That would do it. That was the first thing I was going to say to check.

Dont drive it around like that BTW. Unmetered air will make it run lean, and if its bad enough, it will cause detonation, which is not good.
