While I'm at it

First off, thanks for all the information on here. I have never been down as far as changing heads on a motor and yet I was confident enough to do them.

While I'm at it what else should I chnage while the intake is still off?

It's like 150+. When the guy gave me back my heads he said everything look pretty good. What can I do about the low oil pressure at this point.

if the motors out you could put a new oil pump in... i would def. look into new lifters...
i hear the ls7 lifters work in the lt1's... and they are cheap...

If you have the heads off, you might as well throw in a cam and all new valvetrain parts.

Do I have to have the motor out to change the oil pump?

Be sure to remove and carefully inspect the oil-pump gear drive assembly. And, install a new GM unit if needed. Yes, to get the pan off the engine must be out.
