Wheres the cheapest place to get Lt4 valve covers and how much are they going for?

Looking for the plastic Lt4 VC's. Also, does the alternator need to be altered inorder to run these?

Re: Wheres the cheapest place to get Lt4 valve covers and how much are they going for?

This is what you will need. Not sure of the prices as I grabbed this off an
old post on the topic:

(1) LT4 VALVE COVER (DRIVER SIDE), PN 12552321, $63.60
(1) LT4 VALVE COVER (PASSENGER SIDE), PN 12552322, $68.40
(8) VALVE COVER SCREWS, PN 10108675, $0.75/each
(8) VALVE COVER STUDS, PN 10108674, $2.57/each
(1) OIL FILLER CAP, PN 12555685, $3.79

If you want to get an idea of the current price just check gmpartsdirect with
the above PNs. I find that the gmpartsdirect price (total w/shipping) is about
the same as the discount price I get from my local dealer.

I paid $204 from Dal about a year ago. No alterations to the alternator required.

Re: Wheres the cheapest place to get Lt4 valve covers and how much are they going for?

After just one hr with my new Scorpion Roller Rockers and Beehive Springs I am fed up with the noise. They arent clacking but they are loud in general...

Question,,, I am thinking of buying the LT4 covers.. What Kind of Gasket can I use?? and what are the screws and studs for? the OEM valve covers go with long screws only.. when you mention studs and screws makes me think there are some type of modification required before the LT4 valve covers can be installed succesfully...

does anyone know?

Marvin

Re: Wheres the cheapest place to get Lt4 valve covers and how much are they going for?

You will need everything truedualws6 said.

Current pricing:

12552321 $80.85

12552322 $86.40

10108675 $0.88

10108674 $2.93

12555685 $4.20

The covers use a special gasket that should come installed on the cover, though there have been some people that have gotten covers that had no gaskets.

10108625 gasket $8.54

You may also want to add the Corvette PCV/CCV hose that goes from the throttle body to the passenger vave cover.

12557604 hose $3.39

This info is so awesome Shoebox. It may have taken me days if not weeks to gather all the part number on my own. I must tell you that your help is trully appreciated Shoebox.

Happy Holydays sir.

Don't listen to Shoebox about the LT4 hose, Just cut it to length and the heat from the engine will straigten the small curve out. .
