So did you guys put any heat shielding or anything by the fuel lines, or does the box not create enough heat for it to be an issue?

Take the box lay it on the metal and mark the 4 mounting holes
Take a small 1/4 drill bit i think, drill the 4 holes
Mount the box and screw it down. It dosent give much heat at all.
So you should be fine.

here's mine. Moved fuse box under its own mount, fabbed up a metal plate, screwed it to the fuse box bracket, then mounted the MSD box. Painted the plate same color as car too
