I have a CSI and it works well but you have to notch the inside of the stock WP housing. (I used a dremel.) Summit also has them and maybe a few bucks cheaper. The pic at Jegs is misleading. You don't get the whole housing and everything like in the pic. Also taking off the old WP from the housing can be a little tricky. And depending on how many miles on the car you might want to change the opti at the same time.

i would love to change the opti, but i have no money at this moment, i just purchased an NX kit + installtion + bottle fill up + a new water pump. i have to use my credit card to get all that at nearly the same time....

That's understandable. And BTW I bought the CSI simply because it is much cheaper.

Yea, well I bet you won't think so anymore if it would die on you and you wouldn't even know about it. The stock one will still flow even if leaking. Damage to opti = cheaper than damage to engine.

I really won't consider another electric waterpump unless I really won't have another choice.

BTW: Yes, I had all the fancy wiring, switches, warning LEDs, etc.

You gotta point there Madwolf. The electric pumps are too quiet. I'll be keepin' a close eye on my temp gadge.

Just go with a stock one. I bet you're wanting to do it thinking more HP. Well, hate to disapoint you, but it really won't bring a whole lot. At least not enough to be worth the headache of getting it installed, and then the headache of thinking about it all the time. (does it work?!!! I can't hear it??!! oh crap!!! pheww... yea, I hear it now... hmmm did I wire it right? what does this diode do? what's a diode anyway?!! how about a relay? etc...)

I bought an electric mainly to cool down the car after a run at the track but I'm sure it frees up a pony or 2 also. And my basic philosophy is: STOCK SUCKS!! I know I said that already but by the time I'm done with my car it prolly won't have a stock part left in it.
