Where does a waterpump leak from?
Mine ISN'T leaking but I have 100K miles on it.
Does it leak from the weep hole?
If thats the case can you silicone a hose over the opening of the hole to direct any dripping coolant AWAY from the opticrap?

Some people have put a small fitting on the hole and a hose to direct any leaking coolant away from the opti. If you seal the hole, it will just find another way to leak out and maybe make things worse.
Mine leaked for a long time before I knew what it was and changed out the pump. I was 1500 miles from home when it started leaking the worst. It never bothered my opti at all (I know that not everyone has had the same experience).

Its actually 478hp at the motor.
383 with an XE 230/236 112
Power going through a 700R4 and a 3200 stall. The Superflow dyno can extrapolate hp at the motor when you tell it the tire psi, rear end, tranny and stall.
I wasn't planning on plugging the hole. Just siliconing a tube on to the weep hole to direct the coolant away.

I just finished the opti install on mine and I put a new WP on cause the parts had 135k on em.
Good thing too cause when I pulled the WP off you could tell it was starting to leak from the weep hole.
Water pump is not that hard to change, me and a friend did my opti install and WP and put a new oil seal on the WP drive shaft and it took about 4 hours total, 2 to pull the stuff and 2 to put it back together.
I don,t see why you could not put a fitting in the WP to direct any leaking coolant away but you might find that for all the work its gonna take to do that you could have just changed out the pump.

I think that is a great idea to direct the leaking coolant to another location. I have replaced mine 2 times already with 123k miles on my car.
good luck
