Where did you get your heads ported?

Ok. Due to detonation problems...i am rebuilding my engine. My plans is as follows. Buying a new shortblock(on the way), getting my heads ported, adding hotcam kit, timing chain, etc all the necessary parts(on the way). Then while i run this for a while...Ill rebuild my current short block to strong *** 383, 396...whatever. That way when this new stock bottom end goes(im sure it will with some spray), ill be prepared. Anyhow, I have gotten many quotes from places I found on the net for ported heads and new valves, ranging from $500-$1600. With most being in the $750-$800 range. So i figured i would check and see where all my fbody buds have gotten their head work done at before I go off and just get it done anywhere. Any of you have any recommendations? Later all. Thanks

Also, one weird thing. Half the people/companies said..."well do stage 2 port job..." WTH is a stage 2 port job? I asked them but havent gotten any response yet.

Lloyd Elliot too. The flow #s were good. My heads weren't all that good apparently and were a little less then average, but I'm hoping for 360 I think I'll be close.

Good price too.
