Where can I find a colder range spark plug?

I've tried my local O'reilly's and Autozone and the people are just flat out stupid, they look at me with this puzzled look when I ask them. Do I have to order them online or do I need to ask for a part # at the counter?

Can someone recommend a plug for my engine?

11.54:1
383 w/ a cc306.

Thanks.

Autolite 104's should fit the bill. About a $1 at your local auto parts store.

The reason they look at you that way is probably because you are asking a difficult question. The type and heat range of the plug you should use is based on your mods and for the most part, sales people aren't always that experieced or knowledgable about such things.

Essentially you need to talk with someone who knows and can recommend the right plug for your configuration. Finding the plug will be easy enough once you find out which one to get.

Even the manufactures are not going to be able to recommend a plug for your particular applilcation.

Who did your engine? If you did it yourself without knowing what plugs you'd need, then you'd better get busy. Following just anybody's advice on which plug, especially if they have nothing to base the decision on will probably cost you pain and sorrow. Get it right the first time. JMHO
