Where to buy the LT4 Starter?

Ok I was told I can buy the LT4 starter for around $160, cheaper than the stock one, and no core charge. . Where can i get it and do I just ask for the "LT4 starter"? Whats special about this one that I should get it over the stock one? Does it bolt right up in the stock position, no mods necassary? A older friend is gonna be helping me change it and he'll get stick up his but of this is gonna be more difficult then the stock one. Thanks guys

Do a search for a member named Wilson. He has the part # on his website. FYI if you run longtube headers, you have to dent a primary to get it to fit, at least I had to with my FLP's.

You want p/n 10455709. Install should not be harder because it is a little smaller than the stock starter.

That's right, almost forgot

The starter did interfere with my Mac headers just a little bit. I little grinding it fits fine now.

Well i don't have headers yet, and when I do they'll be shorties. But where do I get it? A dealer? I don't wanna mail order, i hate doing that, I'd rather just go somewhere buy it and take it home.

Also what are the advantages of the LT4 starter?

It is a dealer item. You will pay big $$ if you don't get it from Jason or Dal. No sweat in getting stuff from them. They are good folk and will treat you right.

The starter is a little higher torque as well as the advantage of price and size.

Dal is an excellent parts source for our cars. I get ALL of replacement parts from him.
I will never buy from the parts department at a dealer again, they are just way overpriced.

BTW I emailed you a pic of the lt4 starter compared to the stock starter...

One more question, are these guys parts suppliers or what? What shipping options do they have? Once I order it I'll need it pretty quick. I'm praying the starter i have now lasts that long.

They are dealer parts people. They can ship it any way you want, including overnight (obviously more costly).
