Where is a good place to buy a 383 shortblock? What's a good price for one? I'm also looking to get a set of LT4 heads, any reccomendations on where to buy them? Thanks.

Look at some of the vendors on the board. Golen is just one of many that do it.

 

Is this going to be a street motor or a race motor? Lt4 heads aren't cheap by the time you have them ported, and upgrade the springs. If you are on a budget I would recommend having the lt1 heads ported and refreshed by either Lloyd or Ai. Lloyd was very easy to talk to and he will help set you up with whatever you have in mind. If money is no object get a set of afr's and send them to Lloyd and have them ported more. As far as the shortblock goes there are many different places to get them. I've kind of been browsing Victory Racing Engines, Golen, and Combination Mororsports. I think prices start around 3500 and go up from there depending on crank, pistons, bearings, 2 or 4 bolt main, etc. Do as much research as you can before making a decision.
