When Optis attack!

Went to the track last night and on my very first pass of then evening something went wrong

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmw5gfmTV1c

Its a naturally aspirated setup, so no it wasnt a N2O backfire. Anyway when i got home I put it in the shop and started checking things over. The engine is fine. I have no spark at the plugs but I do coming from the coil. So Im guessing the opti had enough 7200 rpm shifts lol. Time to shop for an alternative.

It was my understanding the stock PCM maxed out at 7K RPM, how are you going to 7.2K RPM on the opti. What cam are you running to that RPM?

You need a Delteq or LTTC.

The tables stop at 7k which means there isnt anything to tune. It still runs, no way of knowing what its doing. I actually pull the shifts at 7k, guessing it actually shifts around 7200. Would rather not say the cam specs.

Thats cool, I thought the thing would not go above 7K period. Be sure to post pics of the opti rotor button.

Also, the rotor screws could have vibrated loose and backed out. And, the rotor possibly fallen off completely.

Yup, I red loc-tited these screws on my new GM opti. The last opti I took off with 40K+ miles had both of those screws loose.
