Mine had 174,000 on it and the original plug wires when the head gaskets let go. That may not be the best for performance, but it worked fine for a daily driver. If he changes the cap and rotor as part of his regular maintenance and doesn't drown it with water, it might be good for at least another 100,000 miles.
