Question when to change shocks?

When I am driving over speed bumps, and on crappy roads, I hear a lot of noise from the rear. Also when The car is parked, and I push down on the rear and let it go back up it makes noise. What is the best replacement that is also cost efficient.

Oh by the way, it is a 96 Z28. Thanks

Bilsteins and KYBs are good.

Check with SLP for stock shocks that were taken off of the cars upgraded to SS models. I bought a pair of fronts for 25 or 35 dollars plus shipping a while ago. Call them if new stock shocks will do.
