Wheel Studs BROKE!!!
Wheel Studs BROKE!!!
I just bought some chrome zr1 wheels and it came with chrome lugs and locks. I put the wheels on the other day fine, then took off the front left with ease to paint my claipers, I went over to the left and stripped two studs taking the lock and one stud off. Why did this happen? I used an impact but it didnt torque them down that much. The car also didnt go on the road since I put the wheels on. I am going to need some new studs, anyone know the part number for a '94 z28?
when i put my wheels on the same thing happened
I just went to napa and got a stud for my car. it was 1.09 per stud
most any local autoparts store should have it.. just tell them the application

When ever your dealing with chrome lugs, you have to run a thread chaser over, or through them. The reason for this is because there is chrome in between the threads that needs to be cleaned out. If you don't clean them, they will lock up and break. Always run a thread chaser down your stud and through the lug or they will strip out and break.
