What's wrong with my car?
A couple of days ago I was driving my car to work at about 60 mph. All of a sudden the car felt like it took a nose dive. It completely stopped accelerating for just a second. After that it drove perfectly normal. Now for the past three days it has been doing the same thing at least once a day. So today I pulled out my MSD 6a box and programmed it back to stock with my hypertech. Took it for a test drive and it seemed to be driving fine for about ten minutes. Got up to about 65-70 mph and the car did it again, but this time it lasted for about 10 seconds. During this time I tried to press on the gas and my car wouldn't do anything. I pumped it about ten times and I got nothing. Almost as if my car had a governor that turned on. I don't think that it was getting any fuel. Could it be my fuel pump going bad or what? I've never had a car do this to me before. So I don't know what to think. Could my blaster coil be causing problems? The car also has about 124,000 miles.

Re: What's wrong with my car?
did your lights and electronics dim? how did your voltmeter look? When my alternator was on its way out, the car would feel like it was fallin on its face the more gas i gave it, idled fine and drove fine for the most part...but every once in awhile would do what i just said. Might want to get that tested, a rebuilt one from nappa is not too pricey...
Re: What's wrong with my car?
I just replaced the blaster coil with my stock coil and now the car wont start. So I put the blaster coil back in and the car still wont start. Its got fuel going to it because I can smell a ton of it in my garage now. Do you think that it could have flooded out and just wont start for a while.
Re: What's wrong with my car?
Sounds like its ignition.
Remove the MSD ignition box all together. Run it in the stock configuration. That will tell you if your MSD box has gone bad or if its something else.

Re: What's wrong with my car?
I already took out the msd ignition box out yesterday and it drove fine, but my car still had the same problem. This morning I took out the msd blaster coil and replaced it with the stock ignition coil. That's when this problem started happening. Then I took the stock coil back out and put the msd blaster coil back in and the car still wouldn't start. WTF is going on. I replaced the coil wire and it still wont start. I went to the parts store and picked up a new coil and new spark plugs because someone told me that if I did flood it out then it probably fouled out the spark plugs. I'll try the new coil first and go from there. Anymore suggestions?
Re: What's wrong with my car?
So I put a new coil in and still nothing.
I guess the next thing I'll do is try to see if a new ICM will fix the problem. Any other suggestions? By the way, the opti is only about three months old. The car started without any issues before I put the stock coil back in. Maybe the stock coil was bad when I put it back in. Its just been sitting in my garage. Could this have caused my ICM to go bad?

Re: What's wrong with my car?
Check your fuel pressure. My car did the same thing. The fuel pump would get hot and start cutting in and out at first, then it wouldn't start at all. I would find someone with a gauge before you replace anymore parts.
