That is something that the screw backed out after only 700 miles. I had one back out on a GM Delco after only about 2000 miles. Goes to show that one should always take whatever brand apart and loctite the screws before installing. I sure thought that the MSD would do better than that, however.

The MSD has that problem. Don't know if all opti's have that problem, but my buddy bought the same billet opti and had to rebuild it after a month.

Just noticed it, Why is the X-Ray taken from the rear of the motor?

Thought that screw looked out of place. Worried about my rotor screws backing out now, 6500+ rpm's I bet they come flying out at full speed. I want to see x-rays of other things!

it was just of the opti, not on motor.

If it was on the motor, the photo would be more white then it is. (not really directed at you, but )

ahha yeah, if it was the motor you wouldn't see the opti from this angle.

What types of issues were you experiencing running it like that?

nice pic, i got a brand new msd opti myself. im gonna pull it apart and loctite the screws for sure. its a common problem, if you can stop that then its a reliable unit.

I made sure to loctite mine before installing it Removing the same distributor twice is enough for me!

it was in a 93 speed density car before mine, and it ran STRONG! hard to believe right? i think it was because the screw had settled at the bottom of the opti, and wasn't hit by the rotor.
