Whats up everyone?
hey everyone, new to the site. anyway i recently bought a 1994 firebird formula M6. It has ram air, air foil, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, edelbrock shorties, y-pipe, hi-flow cat and flowmaster cat backs with a 4.10 rear and accel 300+ ignition and LT4 KM. my dyno pull only shows 266 hp and 301 torque...i know these numbers seem a bit low, anyone know where a possible power lose could be. i dont yet have a pcm tune but il soon be getting one by madz28.com also at the track last wednesday i bested 14.0 at 102.5, this car should def. have hit 13's IMO.
Your mph doesnt seem too bad for those edelbrocks.....maybe 1 or 2 mph low, but not much. I havent heard much good about the edelbrocks and the flowmasters have the nickname of flowlessmaster. So I would just do a normal tuneup, change the plugs, wires, fuel filter. Your mph is good for a 13.6 or so, I am guessing your 60 foot on that run is like a 2.25 or worse, so drag radials would get you 13 easy.
very true, i want to update by saying the car also has the TB bypass, 8mm plug wires, the plugs were changed 2 months ago (NGK TR55's) and the car only has 65K miles on it...i ran it on street tires (falken GRB 451's @25psi) and bogged it a little off the line to avoid any spin. my plan for the exhaust (since i hate listening to it on the highway) is to just get the pacesetter coated long tubes, lose the cat, get a cutout and put a stock muffler on. i figure il get the best of both worlds..
nah its not a 10 year old cat...its a hi-flow cat put on about 2 years ago with the edelbrocks...also the car has the 160 thermo with manual fan switch, i dont have A/F numbers because the ****ty dyno i used didnt do that, only SAE hp and torque #'s, i need a A/F guage, u think the car could be runnin too rich?
Hard to say without seeing it. How did the graph look for the HP/TQ curve? Was it smooth or did it break up any?
BTW, I've run with Falkens before, and they are some of the worst tires I've ever used. Just my opinion.

the curves on both hp/tq are extremely smooth up until about 5K, the nittos suck at the track il admit but they are awesome in the south florida rain, never once lost the rear end since getting them.
I guess im gonna just change the fuel filter, the plug wires and get the madwolf pcm and we'll see if im still having issues
