Probably cuz they don't do anything

U can only really tune ur car for real basic bolt ons. U can't do any extensive programming to the PCM. For HALF the price of a hypercrap, u can get an online tuner or speed shop to flash u a new tune on a PCM and u will get way more significant gains.

because they really don't accurately tune your car to your specific needs
its the same with all the chips
really, take it to someplace who will do custom, or do it yourself
i know for 3rd gens it's only 200 bucks to buy everything you need (cept laptop or some kind of computer) and that's about what you pay for one of those hypertech chips or programmers or less (not sure, i havent ever looked because they are jsut junk)

Do some reading there.

Joe

Oh yeah...I read my pcm after flashing with the hypertech and the only changes tunercat saw were gears, fans, and that's it.

Consider this anology. If a tailor mass produced suits and only made the suit to the measurements of a size 40 coat, 34" waistline and 30"length pants, they might approximately fit the average american male. Several might be able to make it work. For a few the suit would fit perfectly, but for many it wouldn't fit at all.

When it comes to many of the features that the Hypertech offers, you are gambling that your car is the average one for which Hypertech designed their programming. That is why there are some onwers that have a good experience and are pleased, while many are disappointed.

seems to me the programmer is what it is; a mild program not tailored to any one engine. like u said a general mass produced program for the average LT1. am i wrong?
