Whats the most power anyone's gotten with an unopened LT1?

Whats the most power anyone's gotten with an unopened LT1?

Just curious of what the LT1 is capable of with completely stock internals, as in stock bottom end, stock valvetrain, etc. Doing a comparison of some different engines.

I was about 285-290 rwhp i believe. Never had it dynoed but i was pullin all over a kid that dynoed out at 278 rwhp. I ran the 1/4, half a second faster than he did. Thats when i just had bolt ons and full exhaust.

the question is'nt what the HP a unopened LT1 can produce the question is, whats the faster 1/4 for an unopened LT1?

I saw a guys sig said it was an untuned lt1, not one mod, not even an airfilter or catback, running 12's, with a4, converter, gears and usual suspension mods......thats pretty fast on a stocker, good gas mlg etc...thats awsome

Bill Plummer aka INTIMID8R ran 12.2's on a COMPLETELY STOCK LT1 ENGINE (that's for the person that wrote into GMHTP saying he had his rockers installed for that run, that was not true).

He does have a host of bolt-ons to go that fast but the engine was never touched. That was with an A4 and a stall plus all his other bolt-ons.

high 290's low 300's na ofcourse...just think stock ls1's put down more then that

I ran a 13.3 without a converter or slicks. Prolly would have been well into the 12's with them both.

You did ask for "power" in your title so a lot of people are going to give you dyno numbers. For the record mine was 293 RWHP.

IllusionalTA put down 314 with 1.6 rockers and some tuning but he also put it down through a 9" rear so his car was up there pretty high.

how about with turbo/supercharging or nitrous, with dyno proof?

I'm trying to see how strong GM internals are in comparison to some Toyota and Nissan engines. So far I have dyno proof of:

2.0L Toyota 3sgte: 430rwhp on completely bone stock internals
2.0L Toyota 3sgte: 549rwhp on stock bottom end
2.0L Nissan SR20det: 526rwhp on stock bottom end
And I know Supra 2jzgte's are capable of 800rwhp on stock internals, but i dont have dyno charts of them yet.



This is not an import vs domestic thread, dont take it as such, I'm just comparing what is possible on stock internals from a variety of engines.

power

all I have are pullies 52mm tb lt1 edit hooker lt borla catback and control arms and subframe conn and 3920 pounds of me and fuel dynoed 310 340tq most anyone has dynoed even fastchips ed wright has not dynoed an lt1 with those mods. Without headers I dynoe 291 321tq so i gaine a little with the headers.

A while back someone had a thread about a 1975 350 from a junk yard, completely stock aside from a upgraded fuel system to handle the nitrous that made 599HP and like almsot 700 lbs of tourque ... Then they tried a 450 shot or something along those lines, but they tried to "purge" it at idle and blew 3 or the ring lands ... if they did it correctly at a high RPM it might have taken the hit of nitrous ... Also, as far as comparing a supra engine to a LT1 ... Supras are made with low c/r so they can handle the boost , an LT1 is like 10.5 to 1 which is way too high for stock hyperuretic ( spellin ? ) pistons that arent made for boost. Your comparin apples to oranges ( Not to flame or anything ) ... im jsut saying, an LT1 is better off being built NA if you aint gunna touch the bottom ...
