whats a fair price for this car?

today my car search was a bust one car was missing in action even though i called the dealer before i went ot make sure it was there. and one wouldn't start then literally fell apart.
i am going to see a trans am that i had passed up a couple of times because of the miles and the price but i figure i'll take a look and make an offer.

its a 1995 red trans am, 114,000 miles the guy told me they are not the exact miles because he had 3.73's put in a few years ago and never had the speedo and stuff fixed. he said it didn't really bother him cause the car is a weekend summer car any ways. i am gonna still treat it like 114,000 miles regardless because if i got into a accident or went to sell it all i could get was for a 114,000 miles car. it has t-tops and leather looks real nice in the pictures.

he wants 7500$ which to me in over priced. what would be a fair offer for a car with these kind of miles? i was thinking of actually offereing 4000$, is that too low?

I didn't pay much more than that for my 93 with 32k miles and all the mods listed, and a set of new chrome genuine SLP rims with new comp TAs.

your figure is much more realistic than his figure IMHO.

4 is a tad low IMO. I bought my 94Z perfect condition, 125k miles for 4,500. Trans Ams are more expensive than Z's, plus less miles, more mods, leather, ect. = higher price. I'd offer 5 or even 5500 and walk away smiling

I'd use that as a guide.

I would offer him $5500 but not much more than that. If you dont find another one soon, you can check back with him and see if he sold it. If not, let him know your offer still stands.

I got my z28 for 5500 with 96k and in pretty much perfect condition besides some scratches and dings that arent noticable unless your looking for them. He also gave me all this stuff with it, car care stuff, speakers, amps, subs, his cold air and all this other stuff.

I [over]paid 9k for my car with 75k on it.

But I did it because it was near perfect, stored winters, religously maintained, kept under a car cover, local to me, and exactly what I wanted as far as color and options (black, loaded, m6)

I just wish it was a 2002

the car was only 4 years old back then so you maybe didn't get such a bad deal. f-body's seem to lose their value rather quickly its sad.
