Whats the difference in these pushrods?

I'm probably going to need new pushrods for my car since my heads are getting milled and I'm going to be running a thinner head gasket. Whats the difference between the trickflow, comp magnum, and comp hi-tech pushrods? They are all .080 wall heat treated chromoly, but there is a pretty big price difference in them.

Comp Hi-tech = Trickflow = Manley > Comp Magnum

That's just what I read.

They are all basically the same thing, I use the Manley's because we are WD with them and I get better prices than the trick-flow's or comps.

Not sure if that's true, but I wouldn't be surprised. Lots of parts companies "outsource" and stamp their brand name on it. From what I've heard from a machinist the Melling and Moroso oil pumps are made by the same manufacturer.

If I recall correctly the Moroso oil pumps even have the the Melling part #'s stamped on them.

The summit pumps are also melling, have had both of them and they both have the melling number on them.

BTW I think the summit pushrods are made by trickflow....or they are both made by the same company

Trend makes most of the name brand pushrods out there.

Actually the majority of summits parts are made my trickflow, melling, etc. they just stamp the Summit name on them and sell them cheaper than actual brand name. So if you are looking for a set of pushrods, check out the Summit Chromoly ones, they are only 80 bucks and as the guy stated above, probably made by Trickflow.

Depends on the wall thickness and if the tubing is seemless or not. Seemless tubing for pushrods is preferred because seemed tubing has unequal wall thickness which will cause the pushrod to bend a certain way everytime to the week spot in the pushrod, not good.

Would all the one piece ones be seemless?

No.

Comp's 3 levels, the middle one is not seemless and the top level (Hi Tech) is.

Usually they will specificly say they are seemless tubing.
