Wow, for someone with so many posts and so many mods to your car I'd think you'd know better than posting this question in this instead of lt1, and you should know if you have a vented opti or not.

You don't by the way.

Changing to a vented optispark is an involved process compared to some modifications. I have a the instructions on how to do it, saved in a file but so far I don't have a link to give you. Here's some information on the differences between the two.

You have to have a different timing chain cover, a different length dowel pin on your cam, and all of the vent tubes to go to your intake bellow and intake. You will also need that fitting that goes into the bellow and you'll have to drill a hole. I think I covered everything. I've never had to worry about it.

Re: whats the diff between vented and nonvented opti's

i dont think it's worth the trouble...unless you have a newer intake manifold and are doing a head/cam swap any way. which wouldnt be too hard to do...just order a 96-7 cam and get a new cover...double roller and some new rockers.... .....sorry...off topic.

you could do all this at once with a head/cam swap and not worry about doing it again when you want to change heads/cams.

No. Buy one of the aftermarket vented 92-94 replacements.
