With ported heads/HOTcam and all the bolt ons I ran all kinds of plugs. Champions, ACdelco (stock platinum and copper), and NGK. I did not notice a difference in any of them.

You didn't state your compression ratio, but if you've increased it I would go one heat range colder than stock.

$1.25 a piece or so at any parts store. They're 1 heat range colder then stock, one piece, good plugs.

But if I need more spark should I go with a hotter plug? Also when I pull my plugs out the tips is always all red I guess from too much heat, what do yall recommend.

If you need more spark you need a more powerful coil and better wires.

One heat range colder on the plugs will resist detonation.

the plug heat range doesnt denote the spark magnitude it denoted how quickly the plug can disspace heat.

So does that mean colder is always better? So colder would be better for what? I have wires so I just need a coil right?

Re: What's the best plug to run???

It does not mean that colder is always better. It means that if you have bumped up the compression ratio and your motor is running closer to detonation than it was from the factory, a colder plug will be less of a "hot spot" in the combustion chamber, and therefore slightly reduce your risk for detonation.

Stock heat range plugs work fine for stock cars or cars with bolt ons, and even with mild heads/cam with no change in compression IMO. However, if you add boost, spray, or bump the compression up then you need to start looking at colder plugs.

I'm not too familiar with nitrous, but if I had to guess I'd say a plug one heat range colder than stock, and knock the gap down .15 from what stock says(unless you have a really hot coil). The autolite 104 would be fine. Like I said, this is just a guess, the guys in the nitrous section would be able to help you out more. It also depends on how big of a shot you want to go with.

100 Shot. So if I put a bigger gap than .50 could it be better for my car with stock ignition? But if I get a coil and run 100 shot I should get a good plug ( which one) and gap it at like .40 or so?
