What are your thoughts, or better yet, your experiences with the Z06 85mm MAF?

I was doing a little bit of research in the Search Forum and ran across someone who had seen a decent gain with the Z06 85mm MAF.
I was wondering if anybody else has heard about it, or has one?
What do you think of it? It says its worth 18rwhp, but whats that in real life, anybody see 10rwhp, or a tenth at the track with one?
Any info on the subject would be great!
Thanks

I don't know about a power increase, but thats due to a horrible Opti studder that's developed since I installed the Z06 MAF, so I can't really tell any power difference. I know it's not the flowcharts because I've got all my BLMs at approx +0-+3. Mainly it's a cheaper replacement for a stocker than a Factory ($300) or Grantelli ($320), whereas the Z06 is only $80 shipped. The only thig is that you've got to repogram the Flow Vs Frequency chart in the PCM.

Hmm..I just did anpther search and found more threads than before (I dont know why, but it helped)
I understand your the guy who is editing all of yours, while others are buyin it from LS1.Speed ready to put in for $150

One question now. does this replace the stock MAF (like take off the stock one and put this one in)?
Or, do you "piggy-back" the stock MAF with the z06 MAF?
Just wondering,
thanks

It is a complete replacement for the stock MAF. When I put mine in I noticed it right off the bat. The car is more responsive, better throttle response, and it pulled harder up past 60. First mod I have done to my car that I actually noticed.

The pcm will relearn the MAF, for the best benifits you need a custom tune, but all you have to do is unplug the battery and it will have full effect.

Ok, so how long do you have to "take it easy" so the pcm can learn about it?
Also, by unplugging the battery, do you still have to take it easy on it? Or will the pcm know off the bat?>
Thanks

The factory replacement Z06 MAF the computer will not Re-Learn... trust me if you look at the Flow Vs Frequency tabes for the 2 they're so different it's not even funny. I had a very close to factory program in and my car ran so rich it was throwing codes in about 30 mins, all the BLMs were pegged rich.

It is a full replacement, but is larger. The factory one is a 72mm (I believe) and the Z06 is 85mm. This also makes it a little interesting on install because the "In" side is a 4" Diameter, and the "Out" side is a 3.5" It "should" out perform a stock or ported one, but like I've said before I haven't been able to tell due to other problems that have arrisen.
