As bad as this sounds, I don't know what year they started putting the 6speeds in camaros. I've been told in 95 and also in 98. So, i figured i would post a message here, cause i know someone on here knows. Someone please tell me what year they began putting the speeds in camaros. Thanks so much

Everyone on here knows.

Whoever you've been talking to... -Stop.

Also, the LT1 started in 1993. Followed by the LS1 in 1998.

As a test, ask them. If they don't know that.. They are seriously F-Bod clueless.

Thanks for the answers guys. I knew the years of the LT1s and LS1s, I just wasn't sure about the 6speeds. I had thought that all the fourth gen Z's had 6speeds but someone had told me they thought they came with 5speeds, so I got really confused. Either way, I knew I could get the right answer from this site. Thanks guys.

There's one camaro that is a 1992 I think and it has a six speed but its only one. It was going to be a collector edition camaro but they made the heritage edition instead.

this is a new one ive never heard of this. where is it at now and who made it. slp if its true it would have to be a zf tranny and is probably worth more than the car

Yes, it has a ZF 6-speed tranny. This was never a production car however.... Recently (in the last year or two) it has appeared in GM High Tech Performance where a new GM crate 350 Ram Jet was installed in it.... the car is yellow, presumeably a recent re-paint. This car is far from a production car.... doesn't really need even honorable mention when it comes to production vehicles

Actually the first LT1 came out in 1970 for the old vette's and had 385hp from the factory!

But for the camaro's, it was 93.

1991 Actually

The Camaro you speak of was a concept thing GM built, it was to go in to production but never did. The examples GM gave were fairly flimsy. Insiders think it was because the Heritage Aniv was capable of mid 13s and the price was in vette terrriotory. Buts that just specualtions

In purest form my friends the first six speed was 1989, with the C4 Corvette.
