Chances are... you just will never see an LT4 factory engine Camaro on the street.
They're extremely rare.
But you're right, it is '97.

It was never offered to the public.
an SLP(ex?) employee in Georgia owns it now.
and the LT4 Z28 was in the SS with the 30th anniversary package only.(100 cars to be exact).
there were NO LT4's offered in regular Z28's with 30th pkg.

In '96 you could get an LT-4 in any Corvette with only an M6 attached to it. If you wanted an automatic you couldn't get a Gran Sport. You would have to settle for an LT-1. All Gran Sports had LT-4's and an M6. The reason for no automatics with LT-4's may have been the reluctance of G.M. to crash test certify one with the automatic (pure conjecture).
