What is wrong with my wipers
When i turn on my wipers they wipe and then go down and sit a few inches off the stops in the "ready" position. If i speed them up they go really high the drivers side almost goes off the edge of the window and when they go down they hit the stops then bounce back up to the ready position again. Any ideas? Oh and my passenger side blade doesnt wipe a good portion of the window and it does have new blades. The blade moves but only the very end of it wipes the window the rest of the blade doesn't even touch the window. I remember a kid had a 93 in my town and it did the same thing any ideas on that.
On the blade missing the rest of the area problem.
Its because you have the wrong blades.. The arm is contacting the blade and not letting it sitt all the way down on the glass. Get some pliers or a dremel and raise the area that is contacting the arm and you will be set....
As far as the sweeping motion and not going back to rest etc...
Thats been a problem for me as well and i haven't found a suitable fix for it yet. I've heard that there are rubber stops in the wiper motor that once worn will allow over travel but that doesn't fix the return problem..
Anyway, hope that helps some but try the dealer if nothing else.

Non parking wipers are mostly due to a bad 'circuit board' in the wiper motor[no 'rubber stops']
Easiest is to get a good used motor [that'll have another board in it]
Cheaper than a new motor[200+]
I got one used on here for 25..

to get the wipers to make contact with the windshield, heres a little trick. you know the part where the wiper bends up 90* from?? its got like a spring in there, which bends it up and down?? well, grab it from there, (lift it a bit) and bend it down a bit, by pushing on the wiper part. i had both wipers doing the same thing as you (not making contact with the windshield) and did it like that and now theyre fine
make sense what im saying? about the other problem you have, sorry, dont know

Here is my update. I went to a salvage yard and got some new wiper arms with AC delco heads and i got a new wiper motor out of a junk car and replaced them. My windows now wipe the whole window and also don't wipe to high almost of the window or too low and slap the plastic rest anymore. They are like new again. I replaced both at the same time so i don't know if it was wipers, motor or what but i am happy now. By the way my old heads on the wipers were Aerofoil i think so stay away from that junk.
