What would it take for a street tired LT1 to run 11's?

What kind of power it would take to have a 11 second street car? by that I mean drive to the track on street tires, run the 1/4mi in the 11's while also being lowered an inch or so.

sure well call those steet tires...anything with a tread life over 10k
Basically i want to know if I can run 11's with a LE2 (400-420rwhp) on 18" Street tires and be lowered 1-1.5"

You want your cake and eat it too.
Ain't gonna happen with those tires,no suspension mods, and 400RWHP.
Ya need to get the 60' down to the 1.70's and that don't happen without suspension, tires, and good driving and not to mention a strong engine.

yes exactly cake and eat it lol...Suspension..explain? I assume id need a torque arm for sure but I have rear control arms already...what else?
Re: What would it take for a street tired LT1 to run 11's?
a full rear sus, adj. shocks in all 4 corners, maybe an airbag, somehow you need to get those 18's to hook and loose the front sway bar. The fact that you car is lowered in going to hurt the weight transfer, also there is very little sidewall on 18's. If you are able to do it you goin to run something like 11.80@ 119 or something along those lines. Basically enough trap speed for low 11's but your bad 60ft will keep you from an 11.30 or 11.20. The biggest issue is those 18's. A set of 15' pro stars with e/t streets would work wonders but i guess your tryin to stay away from that. Anyways good luck

Your car is/will be lowered and that takes the angle away that does the bitting

bolt ons, 150 shot...skip the 18 in wheels, buy some used 16s and put some mickey t et drag radials on them to switch out at the track...or better yet buy yourself some prostars/draglights.
OR le2 with your susp and a 100 shot aughta do it...

I think it's very doable with a strong engine (heads/cam at least) and
drivetrain, even on street (Z or DR) rubber.
With some practice, you can learn to launch it well and pick up decent 60ft
times. Gears, stall (for an auto), a nice intake, headers and catback setup
should be done to support the heads/cam.
I'd try to stick with stock height springs and some decent light rims if ETs
are your goal. The larger rims (specifically chomed one) can add a lot of weight
and slow you down.
if all else fails, juice it
