what would gain most??

just trying to plan some winter mods. what would likely give me more of a gain in the quarter, going from 3.23 gears to 3.73? or restalling my vig from 2800 to 3600? i've tried searching, but i really couldn't find anything.
it's on a heads/cam car with all the bolt ons. cam is 226/234 on a 110 lsa.
i might do both if the funds become available somehow, but the wife might get a little ...lol
thanks guys...

I'd think the gears would be more beneficial, simply because the stall looks like it's already where it needs to be. It's definitely a tough choice though I think 3600 may be a bit muc

I would actually think that with that cam 3600 would be about right. You will still probably see more of a gain going to 3.73's, but the stall should be changed at some point.

That is a tough call, the stall could be a little higher. How old is the converter? Think Vig has inexpensive or free restalls for the first couple years, look into that and if you are eligable for something like that then jump on that.

The gears should be done at some point too and if the restall is going to cost a lot then just go ahead and do the gears first, think it will make it drive better with some ET gain at the track too.

it seems as if the gears might be my choice. the stall has only about 3000 miles on her. precision said it would be about 225 for a re-stall. for the gears, i'm looking into summit brand gears and install kit, it's going to run about 200 for parts, give or take. i'm just trying to finish up the few remaining items i needed to get when i did the heads/cam last winter. i'm not quite where i should be.

3.73 on a A4 is too much IMO. go with a stall. that way you at least have economy in one hand

Get the gears and maybe have that Mikronite process done to them before there installed. Suppose to make them stronger, less friction, and with that, less heat.

I'd think the 3.73's are perfect for an auto it didn't effect my gas milage that much and gave me a HUGE boost to my ET over my old 2.73's.
