Question What would be the effects of a failing Throttle Postion Sensor and Engine Coolant Sen

Hi Guys!

I have a 1997 Z28 with 79 K miles on it what would be the effects of a failing Engine coolant temperature sensor and a Throttle Position Sensor.

My car studders at idle or pops a little in the exhaust idling.

Would bad Tps or ECT Sensor cause this?

I have replaced plugs and Wires, Optispark, Ignition Coil and Module. EGR Valve.

Thanks Lee!

A bad ECT in the water pump could feed the PCM poor info and cause the car to run rich. A bad TPS would cause different types of drivability problems. Best/quickest way to know if they are both ok is with a scanner.

I had another vehicle that had a bad TPS. The engine RPM would hunt up and down at idle from below normal idle speed to much higher RPMs. It was like it was possessed The engine would pop or hiccup some.
