Im damn near ready to start this monster, but I cant remember where this wire went. Its at the starter. I thought there was just the one B+ wire at the main post, then one wire at the solenoid. But I have two small wires with small terminals. I cant remember if I pulled them both off the solenoid Its been damn near 6 months though, lol. Where does the other small wire go?



Im sure the purple one goes to the solenoid. The black one is the one in question.

 

If i remember correctly, two of the wires went on one bolt on the starter then the smaller one was by itself on the other bolt.

 

But in this pic (from shoebox) it looks like each post only has one wire:

I see 3 wires with connector things on them...

Each one of those should go to each post on the starter

Is that waht your asking?

 

And in this schemadic it looks like only one wire goes to the main post, and one purple wire to the solenoid.

Damn this black wire.

 

You only put wires on two of the starter posts...

 

Black wire goes to the dipstick and it's a ground.
Then you have one small 16 gauge wire to the solenoid along with the 6-8 gauge wire to the battery.

This is the way mine is wired and works fine, just had it off over the weekend after a motor swap.

 

Im just trying to remember off the top of my head so i may be wrong but heres what i think. The top right wire connected in that pic is the very short wire from the starter motor which is attatched to the solonoid. The small wire to the left of it is the positive and the lower one is the negative. The extra black wire would be a ground attatched to the negative.

 

The black/white wire goes here.

hmm i coulda sworn mine had 3 wires on it when i took it off last week... Altho the last person who had it completely f!cked the wiring up on the car..

 

Yea, you probably wouldnt want to put the PCM ground to a battery positive

 

So i guess my PCM is grounded to my starter Oh well, thats how it was when i took it off, all the negatives go to the same place anyway

 

The starter posts arnt negatives. You better check that out.

 

I'm not saying oh well.. I'm checking it out 1st thing tomorrow

I cleaned all the grounds not to long ago and the car started a little better. But now the start problem is back.. And i know i did not see a ground like that anywhere Only the big one on the block. Coulda sworn there were 3 wires on there. Could be wrong who knows. But they also wired **** up really weird so i wouldnt be suprised.
