What will I run? Can I be in the 13's?

Running at the track today in my 95 Formula. Car is absolutely completely stock still. I am borrowing some drag radials from a friend. Car is in good tune as far as I can tell. What do you think the 1/4 mile potential is for tonight's run? I've never run with DRs so I don't know how much of a time difference it makes.

If the weather is good and you can hook up you might see a 13.
Might need some mods to do it consistently.

DR's hurt my times on my A4 (with basic bolt ons and 373's), It felt good off the line but when it shifted to second my RPM's fell out of the "sweet spot" and I think it hurt me. If all goes well, I will need them when I get my stall though....

Its possible to hit 13s without the DRs but they should help raise the chances of you reaching your goal. On average I'd expect a solid 14.0 out of it depending on the weather conditions. In good air with a good 2.0 60' you should see 13.9. Bone stock my personal best is 14.09@99 mph on BFG KDWS all season rubber. I'd post this in the drag racing forum as well or havea mod move it for ya for the best answers. Good luck tonight and get some 13s.

I would think your car should be in the 13's on slicks. I ran a 14.02@99 on Eagle GAs , stock.

6 Speed or Auto? If its an auto I'd say definately possible but it'll be tough. If its a 6 speed I'd say its entirely possible with DRs.

With cold air and catback I ran 14.1 @ 99..... with 2.73's... I guess 13.8 if you have good gearing and can hook. Good luck!

Later,

Mike

It might happen, but don't expect it, especially if this is your first time to the track. My first time, I was hoping to dip below 14's based on times I've seen here. I couldn't muster better than a 2.2 60' time, which led to a 14.4 sec run at 98 MPH. It was 86 degrees and at least 80% humidity though.

With good weather and a good hook up, you MIGHT get there, just don't plan on it.

Good luck.

Yes, but it takes a great launch and good weather. It's not the norm. I just don't want to get expectations up too high, like everyone and his uncle can hit 13's stock. It not easy, actually it's pretty darn difficult.

The weather is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT today... it's actually quite cool and clear out.

I have run on the 1/4 one other time on my street tires and only pulled a 14.6, but that was due to A.) Me not launching hard enough and B.) I let off early because I didn't know where the end of the 1/4 was.... lol, whoops. And I only got ONE run in because I got there late. I was just testing the waters, so I'm sure I could muster several tenths out of it (I let off WAY early... like just after the 1/8 and then kicked back in). Plus I'll be on the DRs this time, and the weather is better. So I'm hoping for 13's!

To answer a few questions, it's an automatic with 2.73's (eck).
