what/where head gaskets

what/where head gaskets

i dont know what head gaskets to get .. the heads are from a 97 camaro, stock length pushrods, i dont know if any thing else plays a role in what thickness to get or what.. also where can i order the ones i need from too? Thanks.

A lot of guys use the Impala SS gaskets to bump of the compression ratio a bit. I'm using GM gaskets on mine.

i see, well i think i'd like to do the same with using the impala gaskets maybe? Any info on exactly what improvements to the ratio it does, and how it effects everything? please anyone? thanks !

Much more important than the bump in CR, which is minimal, .2 points maybe, is the quench, it lowers the quench from the .070" (i believe) to around .054". That is assuming stock is .045 I believe. Deck height assumed to be .025".

Do a search on quench to understand what that is, there have been several posts in the last few weeks asking about it. Check in advanced, I believe there is still on on the first page.

Other than that reason, they are a little bit cheaper if you know somebody at a dealership. If you dont, Id suggest the felpro 1074s.

well as long as it wont cause any damage :P, ill stick with the ones you recommend, i dont know anyone at a dealership really..
